Branch of Medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. The Philippines Pediatric Society recommends pediatric care up to age 19.  A medical doctor who specializes in this area is called a Pediatrician. Pediatrics has various subspecialties which include, Neonatology, Pediatric Cardiology, Critical Care, Pediatric Oncology, Pediatric Neurology, Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics and others.
