Dental Medicine

Dental Medicine is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity, commonly in the dentition but also the oral mucosa, and of adjacent and related structures and tissues.

Endocrinology
Endocrinology is a branch of biology and medicine dealing with the endocrine system, its diseases, and its specific secretions known as hormones. It is also concerned with the integration of developmental events proliferation, growth, and differentiation, and the psychological or behavioral activities of metabolism, growth and development, tissue function, sleep, digestion, respiration, excretion, mood, stress, lactation, movement, reproduction, and sensory perception caused by hormones. Specializations include behavioral endocrinology and comparative endocrinology.
General Medicine
A medical doctor who treats many diseases affecting the body, whose primary treatment does not involve surgery; they are called General Physicians or General Practitioners (GP). Examples of conditions GPs can treat:
    – Hypertension and Ischemic Heart Disease
    – Asthma, Pneumonia, Emphysema
    – Gastroenteritis, Ulcers
    – Cerebrovascular accidents(stroke)
    – Diabetes and others.
General Surgery
Is a medical discipline that involves performing various types of surgical procedures to treat a broad range of health problems and diseases. A medical doctor who specializes in this field is called a General Surgeon. They have been trained to provide surgical care for the patient which includes making a diagnosis, preoperative, operative and postoperative management and surgical treatment of the : Alimentary tract, Abdomen and its contents, breast , skin, and soft tissue nd endocrine system. Subspecialties include, head & neck Surgery, pediatric surgery, surgical critical care, trauma and burns and others.
Hematology

Is a Medical Specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internist. Subspecialties include, Cardiovascular Disease, Immunology, Endocrinology eg Diabetes & Metabolism, Gastroenterology, Hematology and others.

Internal Medicine

Is a Medical Specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internist. Subspecialties include, Cardiovascular Disease, Immunology, Endocrinology eg Diabetes & Metabolism, Gastroenterology, Hematology and others.

Obstetrics & Gynecology

A medical doctor who specialize in this field is called an obstetrician-gynecologist or OB-GYN, who has expertise in female reproductive health, pregnancy and childbirth.  Obstetrics specifically covers,pregnancy, childbirth and pospartum period; while Gynecology covers the health of the female reproductive system, the vagina, uterus, ovaries and breasts. Subspecialties include, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Gynecological Oncology, Family Planning, Menopausal and Geriatric Gynecology and others.

Oncology

Oncology is the field of medicine that is devoted to cancer. Clinical oncology consist of three primary disciplines: medical oncology (the treatment of cancer with medicine, including chemotheraphy), surgical oncology (the surgical aspects of cancer including biopsy, staging, and surgical resection of tumors), and radiation oncology (the treatment of cancer with therapeutic radiation). The word “onco” means bulk, mass, or tumor while “-logy” means study.
A medical professional who practices oncology is an oncologist.

Opthalmology

Is a branch of Medicine and Surgery that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders; a spcialist on this field is called an ophthalmologist.  Subspecialties include certain diseases of the eye such as, Anterior Segment surgery, Cornea desease, Glaucoma, Medical Retina, Refractive Surgery, Ocular oncology and others.

Orthopedics

Orthopedic surgery or orthopedics, is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and nonsurgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders. A person who specializes in orthopedics is known as Orthopedist.

Otorhinolaryngologists

Otorhinolaryngologists (also known as otolaryngologists or ear, nose and throat or ENT Surgeons) are surgical specialists who diagnose, evaluate and manage a wide range of diseases of the head and neck, including the ear, nose and throat regions.

ENT surgeons often treat conditions that affect the senses such as hearing and balance disorders or smell and taste problems. They also treat patients with conditions that affect their voice, breathing and swallowing as well as those with head and neck tumors including the skull base and interface with the brain.

ENT surgeons may treat people of all ages from newborn babies to elderly people. 

Pain Management

Pain management, pain medicine, pain control or algiatry, is a branch of medicine that uses an interdisciplinary approach for easing the suffering and improving the quality of life of those living with chronic pain. The typical pain management team includes medical practitioners, pharmacists, clinical psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, physician assistants, nurses, dentists. The team may also include other mental health specialists and massage therapists. Pain sometimes resolves quickly once the underlying trauma or pathology has healed. Effective management of chronic (long-term) pain, however, frequently requires the coordinated efforts of the pain management team. Effective pain management does not mean total eradication of all pain.

Pediatrics

Branch of Medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. The Philippines Pediatric Society recommends pediatric care up to age 19.  A medical doctor who specializes in this area is called a Pediatrician. Pediatrics has various subspecialties which include, Neonatology, Pediatric Cardiology, Critical Care, Pediatric Oncology, Pediatric Neurology, Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics and others.
