HISTORY OF DR. RAMON B. GUSTILO HOSPITAL

HOW IT ALL STARTED

In 2013, Dr. Ramon B. Gustilo envisioned an ambulatory surgical center to be built in Manapla, Negros Occidental Philippines.

The Vision: “To Provide Quality and Affordable Healthcare for All”.

Within 2 years, the Gustilo Clinic and Ambulatory Surgery Center(GCASC) was constructed. A 3-storey building equipped with a 2 operating suites, recovery room, rehabilitation center and ancillary services such as Pharmacy, Clinical Laboratory and Radiology with X-ray and Ultrasound services. It was envisioned to become a Joint Replacement and Orthopedic Trauma Center; with emphasis on ambulatory or out-patient management.

Although we were able to receive our Department of Health accreditation and approval as an Ambulatory Surgery Center, our joint replacement and orthopedic trauma management requires at least a Level 1 hospital management.

In 2015, Dr. Gustilo and his team began planning a 5-storey Level 1 hospital including the addition of 2-storey patient private and semi-private suites, an Emergency Room and enhanced ancillary services.

The Dr. Ramon B. Gustilo Hospital was completed in 2018 and was approved by the Deparment of Health as a Level 1 hospital in December 2019.
